Universe in the Park 2026

On Wednesday, August 12th, we welcomed Eshan from the University of Wisconsin for a “Universe in the Park” presentation. These programs are part of the UW lecture series, and they take place all over the state. Eshan talked to a group of about 75 park visitors about the James Webb Space Telescope, along with other interesting topics.

UW – Madison Astronomy student Eshan giving his presentation to our crowd.

Following the program, we took to the skies with our fleet of scopes. We were also treated to many shooting stars/meteors that were part of the annual Perseid meteor shower. We had our Celestron Origin scope out once again, and the photos from that are below. We didn’t take any extended exposures of objects, which allowed us to hop around to various objects for our great group of visitors.

Thanks to everyone who made it out and to Eshan for joining us!

We have our monthly program this Saturday (August 15th) with the indoor program starting at 8:30 and the viewing to follow.
